Treatment of Patients with Cardiovascular Disease
Impact
of Cardiovascular Comorbidity on the Outcome of Surgery for Stage I and
II NSCLC (PubMed)
Study reported in the February 2004 issue of the European Journal
of Cardiovascular Surgery that found cardiovascular disease "seems
to have" a significant impact on survival and morbidity in patients
undergoing surgery for lung cancer, especially in the presence of multifocal
vascular disease and following major resections. The timing of vascular
surgery and the extension of resection should rely on the severity of
the vascular disease, and the anesthesiologist's and surgeon's final evaluation.
